The Ada (ix) of Ada-ma, Twon-Brass Kindom in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, HRH.Sir, Barr. David Serena-Dokubo Spiff, Chiefs and leaders of thought of the community has resolved to utilize dividends that accrue to the community from its investment for the completion of the Adama Centenary Hall project.

They made this known after the Finance and Investment Committee of the Community headed by Chief Inatimi Nyingifa made a detailed presentation of statement of account from the community’s investment in Access Bank PLC and WAPIC Insurance to the Ada and his Chiefs.

Chief Nyingifa stated further that with eyes on the future, the Ada, his Chiefs and leaders of thoughts in 2008 unanimously resolved to depart from prevaling normal of sharing all royalties by investing part of royalties paid to the communities.

The Ada of Ada-Ama who is a former Secretary to Bayelsa State Government expressed hearty cheers to the members of the Finance & Investment Committee and to the Chiefs and people of Adama community.

“The public presentation is not an exercise in self adulation but to show transparency in community governance and administration and also to inculcate in our people the need to imbibe the culture of investment for the future”.

The monarch stated further “the funds will go a long way to complete the Ada-Ama Centenary Hall nearing completion and we are optimism that the facility will be dedicated to God and for the use of the people of Ada-Ama early next year”

Former Deputy Speaker, Bayelsa State House of Assembly Chief Victor Sam-Ateki while expressing gratitude to the Ada, Chiefs and the Committee said such laudable steps will take away the burden of levying members of the community.

Ada-Ama community is one of the communities with rich historical significance in Twon-Brass Kingdom and the entire Bayelsa State. The community which dates back to pre-colonial times was recognised by the British Colonial Government.

The Community is host to Oil and Gas exploration Companies and from time to time receives royalties and dividends from the companies.
